As normal at this time of year there are so numerous rumours going around the local football circuit, to squash any speculation as Chairman of Tavistock A.F.C. I am delighted to announce that Ian Southcott has agreed to continue as Manager of the football club for at least another two seasons.
“Ian has done a magnificent job as manager since joining the club, with the limited resources available. Continuity can only be for the good for both parties, as our working relationship is based similar principals.”
Since the formation of the S.W. PENINSULA LEAGUE two years ago, the club has finished tenth in the inaugural season, and in sixth position last term. Ian can take great credit in achieving these positions. He works extremely hard on behalf of the club, and I know that he is already looking for new signings for the squad”
“I am looking forward to continue working with Ian and can assure all the loyal supporters that whatever decisions have to be made, it will be done in the interest of the club”.
Kind regards,
D. Pethick . . . . . .
I am very honored to be the Commercial Manager of Tavistock AFC. The Chairman of the Club and the whole Committee will have my Loyal Support!
''AS A FAMILY WE HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS OF THIS SUPER LITTLE FOOTBALL CLUB!''
With the ever growing success of the Son-Rise Cup Event, I feel ,now that Paul is at school, the time is right for me to help take the club into the 21st. Century.
Sponsors of Tavy AFC are most important and I intend on getting them great advertising ,tactfully done with Rival Businesses having fair promotion.
I know how important it is to help the community and charities and I also know I can deliver this to the businesses , National or Local. I have to say that not one business up to now has been negative towards my involvement with the Club.
So my goal is this to surround Langsford Park with Ground Boards by the end of the 2009-2010 Season. Also to give Corporate Businesses and Groups a chance to enjoy entertaining in the ''Upstairs , Robin Fenner Suite.''
It is an exciting time too as I have a good link with a Celebrity Speaker Company who have helped me raise thousands for charity and I intend to organize Dinners with Famous People to bring a positive profile to the Club.
Many of you know that I enjoy helping Bob Champion MBE and his Cancer Trust , well this will continue and Bob has agreed to be my Speaker on Saturday 7th. November at the Red & Black Club.
I have always loved football and want my children and their friends to have a chance to enjoy this great Team Game.
Ian Southcott , The Manager, has my 100% backing! He is a talented man who has a good eye for football and I wish him well. I also enjoy supporting Karl Gatcom's Reserves , many of whom have become friends!
So please support my role in the club and wish everyone well for 2009-10 Season!
